Inspired by a traditional Māori weaving technique called Tukutuku. Designs consist of intricate panels and symbols woven into wooden panels, made by women working together in pairs.
Tukutuku panels adorn the walls of meeting houses and are culturally significant representing Māori storytelling and genealogy connection.
This particular design is inspired by a pattern called 'Porourangi Potama' which is deeply tied to where I grew up in Tikitiki, NZ and is a representation of knowledge, personal growth and ancestral lineage.
Handcrafted 100% merino lambswool spun and dyed in the UK.
Gently felted to create a soft and luxurious feel.
